(GREENWOOD, IN) – The College Sports Communicators announced their 2024 baseball Academic All-District Teams Tuesday afternoon and the Saints had five student-athletes recognized. These student-athletes are senior
Gavin Pearson (Burlington, KY / Cooper), senior
Brady Baldock (Burlington, KY / St. Henry), junior
Austin Dennis (Cincinnati, OH / Oak Hills), junior
AJ Enginger (Hamilton, OH / Badin), and sophomore
Gunner Kalkhoff (Cincinnati, OH / LaSalle). Student-athletes from NCAA Division I, II, and III as well as the NAIA are recognized for this honor.
To be nominated, the student-athlete must be a sophomore both academically and athletically. They must have competed in 90% of the institution's games/contests/sets played or must start in at least 66% of the games/contests/sets. For pitchers, they must make 17 appearances or 25 innings pitched. The student-athlete must have at least a 3.50 cumulative GPA (on a 4.0 scale). Graduate students must have a minimum of a 3.50 for both their graduate program GPA and their undergraduate GPA.
Gavin Pearson is a Business Administration major with a 3.84 GPA. He made 48 starts on the year, and posted a .320 batting average while recording 58 hits, 7 doubles, 2 triples, 2 home runs and 32 RBIs.
Brady Baldock is an Exercise Science major with a 3.70 GPA. He made 40 starts on the season and recorded 38 hits, 14 doubles, 2 home runs, 29 RBIs with a batting average of .266.
Austin Dennis is a Business Administration major with a 3.65 GPA. He made 8 starts in 9 appearances on the mound. He posted a 4-3 record with a 4.54 ERA over 39.2 innings pitched. He struck out 28 batters.
AJ Enginger is an Exercise Science major with a 3.84 GPA. He made 43 starts in 44 games played. He posted a .225 batting average that saw him record 29 hits, 4 doubles, 16 RBIs and 18 walks.
Gunner Kalkhoff is a Business Administration major with a 3.85 GPA. He made 38 starts in 40 appearances and posted a .238 batting average with 31 hits, 4 doubles, 13 RBIs and 15 walks.
