Pierani Tallies Four Points in Loss to Emmanuel

Box Score (FRANKLIN SPRINGS, GA) – The Thomas More University women's lacrosse lost to Emmanuel University on the road on Thursday afternoon (Mar. 7th) by a score of 23 to 10. Thomas More drops to an overall record of 0-7 on the season. 

• Emmanuel opened the game with 3 goals to take an early lead.
• Sophomore Meg Pierani (Bright, IN / Mercy McAuley) records her first goal of the game unassisted to get the Saints on the scoreboard. (1-3)
• After another Emmanuel goal, Pierani scores again this time off an assist from senior Madi Carle (Cincinnati, OH / Mercy McAuley) (2-4).
• First year Alex Nunn (Loveland, OH / Loveland) finds the net after an Emmanuel goal to make it 5 to 3.
• Emmanuel scores three more goals to extend their lead (3-8).
• First year Alyssa Miller (Cincinnati, OH / Oak Hills) scores to end the quarter off an assist from junior Eva Kinwel (4-8).
• Emmanuel adds four more goals to make it an 8 goal game (4-12).
• Alex Nunn finds senior Mckenzie Mobley (Harrison, OH / Harrison) for a Saint goal with 8 minutes to go in the half (5-12).
• After two more Emmanuel goals, the Saints respond with goals from Nunn and first year Anna Wells (West Chester, OH / Lakota West) with an assist to Meg Pierani (7-14).
• Emmanuel adds to more goals to extend lead at halftime (7-16).
• Madi Carle got the second half started with a Saint goal (8-16).
• Meg Pierani and Anna Wells score back to back FPS goals after an Emmanuel goal to make it 17 to 10.
• Emmanuel adds 6 goals to end the game at 23 to 10.

 

• Meg Pierani scored 3 goals and an assist for the Saints.
• Madi Carle had a team high 5 caused turnovers to go with 3 ground balls, a goal and an assist.
• First year goalie Kaylynn White (Fort Bragg, KY / Louisville Male) recorded 13 saves in the contest.

 

The Saints will return to action on Wednesday (March, 13th) when they host Charleston at Republic Bank Field. That game is set to begin at 6:00 PM.
