(CRESTVIEW HILLS, Ky.)-Thomas More University's softball team was swept by the Rio Grande Red Storm on Tuesday (April, 18th) afternoon. Game one went to the Red Storm by a score of 7 to 5, while game to finished with a score of 5 to 3. Thomas More falls to an overall record of 22-16 on the season.
Game 1: Rio Grande  7-5
- Rio Grande hit a solo home run in the first inning, and a three run home run in the second inning to take the early lead. (0-4)
- Rio Grande scored 2 more runs in the 4th and 5th innings to extend their lead. (0-6)
- Graduate student Maclai Branson (Union, Ky. / Ryle) doubled to bring home a run to get Thomas More on the board in the 5th inning. (1-6)
- Junior Josie Wefer (Cincinnati, Ohio / Oak Hills) followed with a 2 RBI double to cut the Red Storm lead to 3. (3-6)
- Rio Grande scored another run in the 6th inning. (3-7)
- Maclain Branson hits a 2 run home run in the 7th inning. (5-7)
Game 2: Rio Grande 5-3
- Rio Grande score 1 run in the third inning to take the lead. (0-1)
- Rio Grande scored 3 more runs in the 5th and another in the 7th to take a 5 run lead. (0-5)
- Sophomore Karys Black (Burlington, Ky. / Boone County) hits a 2 run home run to get Thomas More on the board. (2-5)
- Junior Delaney Kemper (Williamstown, Ky. / Williamstown) follows with a home run to make it back to back for the Saints. (3-5)
Game 1:
- Maclai Branson went 2-4 at the plate with a double, home run, 3 RBIs, and 2 runs scored.
- Senior Hailey McAdoo (Cincinnati, Ohio / Mercy McAuley) went 2-2 at the plate with 2 walks and 2 runs scored.
- Senior Sydney Bledsoe (Cincinnati, Ohio / Oak Hills) went 2-3 in the game for the Saints.
- Josie Wefer went 1-4 with a double and 2 RBIs.
Game 2:
- Hailey McAdoo went 2-4 at the plate for the Saints.
- Karys Black went 1-4 with a home run, run scored and 2 RBIs.
- First year Sophia Thoma (Cleves, Ohio / Taylor) went 2-4 at the plate for the Saints.
- Delaney Kemper went 1-3 with with a home run, RBI and run scored.
Game 1:
- Senior Annika Gels (Eaton, Ohio/Eaton) pitched 2 innings, allowing 4 runs on 5 hits and striking out 4.
- Junior Cassidy King (Huber Heights, Ohio/Wayne) pitched 5 innings, allowing two earned runs off 7 hits and striking out 2.
Game 2:
- Karys Black pitched four innings, giving up 3 earned runs on 5 hits.
- First Year Maddy Henry (Cincinnati, Ohio/Mercy McAuley) pitched 3 innings, allowing 1 run on 3 hits.

The Saints return to action this weekend when they host Campbellsville for a three game series at Thomas More Softball Field. First pitch is set for Friday (April, 21st) at 4:00 PM ET.
