(FLORENCE, Ky.)-Thomas More University softball team was swept by Lindsey Wilson on Monday afternoon (March 6th) to open Mid South Conference play. The Saints dropped game one 14 to 6 before falling in game 2 by a score of 10 to 7. Thomas More moves to 6-2 on the season and 0-2 in conference play.

Game 1: Lindsey Wilson 14-6
- Lindsey Wilson scored 4 runs in the top of the first inning to take an early lead. (4-0)
- In the bottom of the first, sophomore Karys Black (Burlington, Ky. / Boone County) got the Saints on the scoreboard with a solo shot over the left field fence. (4-1)
- Senior Sydney Bledsoe (Cincinnati, Ohio / Oak Hills) doubled and brought home another Saint run to make it a 2 run game after the second inning. (4-2)
- Lindsey Wilson pushed across 4 more runs during the third and fourth innings to stretch their lead to 6. (8-2)
- In the 4th inning, senior Hailey McAdoo (Cincinnati, Ohio / Mercy McAuley) reached on an error by the left fielder that also brought home a Thomas More run. (8-3)
- Graduate Maclai Branson (Union, Ky. / Ryle) hit a 2 RBI single to bring the Saints within 3. (8-5)
- Karys Black singled to bring home Branson to end the 4th inning with the Saints within 2 runs. (8-6)
- A big 6th inning and a run in the 7th stretched the Lindsey Wilson lead to 8. (14-6)
Game 2: Lindsey Wilson 10-7
- Lindsey Wilson scored 1 run in the top of the first to take an early lead. (1-0)
- Junior Delaney Kemper (Williamstown, Ky. / Williamstown) hit a 2 run homer to take the lead after the first inning. (1-2)
- Lindsey Wilson score 3 runs in the second inning to retake the lead. (4-2)
- First year Sophia Thoma (Cleves, Ohio / Taylor) doubled to bring home a Saint run in the third inning. (4-3)
- Karys Black reached on an error that brought in another Thomas More run in the 5th inning. (4-4)
- Thoma hit an RBI double in the 5th and was later brought in by a junior Josie Wefer (Cincinnati, Ohio / Oak Hills) sacrifice fly to give Thomas More a 2 run lead. (4-6)
- Lindsey Wilson put up 3 runs int he 6th and 3 runs in the 7th inning to give them a 10-6 lead. (10-6)
- Josie Wefer hit another sacrifice fly to bring home a Thomas More run in the 7th. (10-7)

Game 1:
- Karys Black went 3-4 at the plate with 2 RBIs, a homre run and a run scored.
- Sydney Bledsoe went 2-2 at the plate with an RBI, walk, double and run scored.
- Maclai Branson went 1-4 with 2 RBIs, a run scored and a stolen base.
Game 2:
- Delaney Kemper went 2-4 with 2 RBIs, a home run, and a run scored.
- Sophie Thoma went 2-3 with two doubles, 2 RBIs, and a run scored.
- Josie Wefer went 0-2 with 2 RBIs on Sacrifices.Â
- Karys Black went 1-4 with 3 runs scored.
- Maclai Branson went 1-3 with a double, and 2 runs scored.

Game 1:
- Junior Cassidy King (Huber Heights, Ohio / Wayne)Â to the start for the Saints. She pitched 5.1 innings, allowing 8 earned runs on 7 hits, and striking out 7. She received the loss in game 1.
- Senior Emily Wisman (Okeana, Ohio/Harrison) pitched 1.2 innings, gicing up 3 earned runs on 5 hits.
Game 2:
- Sophomore Emma Kent (Hamilton, Ohio/Badin) pitched the complete 7.0 innings for the Saints. Allowing 8 earned runs on 9 hits, and striking out 7. She received the loss in game 2.
The Saints return to action tomorrow to take on Midway in a doubleheader in Midway, Ky. First pitch is set for 1:00 PM ET.
