Box Score Columbia, Ky. - The baseball program at Thomas More fell to conference foe Lindsey Wilson by a score of 7-4 in the single nine inning game. With the loss the saints drop to 7-6 and on the year and 1-2 in Mid-South play.
- The Blue Raiders score one run in the the first, second, fourth, and fifth innings to take a 4-0 lead.
- In the sixth the Saints would try to mount a comeback as Jacob Caruso (Rootstown, Ohio/Rootstown) would hit into an error that would score senior Casey Nowak (Burlington, Ky. / Covington Catholic) to make the score 4-1.
- Sophomore outfielder Brady Baldock (Burlington,Ky./St. Henry) would hit a bases clearing single double, scoring sophomore Gavin Pearson (Burlington, Ky. / Randall K. Cooper) and first-year Ben Duncan (Hilliard, Ohio / Hilliard Bradley) who was courteous running for Caruso to bring Thomas More within one.
- A Brett Benzinger (Taylor Mill, Ky. / New Richmond) triple would score Baldock from first to make the game tied at four heading into the bottom of the sixth.
- Lindsey would score three runs in the bottom of the sixth which would be the final runs of the game scored to make the score 7-4 in favor of the Blue Raiders.
- Nowak went three-for-five from the dish with one run scored while collecting a double.
- Baldock collected one hit in four plate appearances with two rbi's and a run scored.
- Benzinger added one hit in four plate appearances with an rbi and a run scored.
- Sophomore Mychal Grogan (Cincinnati, Ohio/Elder) threw for five innings allowing four runs on seven hits with three strikeouts.
- Junior Justin Bierbaum (Bridgetown, Ohio / LaSalle) pitched one complete inning allowing no runs on one hit with a strikeout.
- Sophomore Zach Dugan (Cincinnati, Ohio / Elder) threw one complete inning allowing no runs on no hits.
Baseball will return to the field tomorrow, March 5 when they will play a doubleheader with Lindsey Wilson, starting at 1 p.m. ET in Columbia, Ky.
