Baseball Falls in Mid-Week Game to Indiana Wesleyan

(MARION, Ind.)-Thomas More University's baseball team fell 18-4 to Indiana Wesleyan on Tuesday (March 30) afternoon. The Saints overall record falls to 19-11.

• Indiana Wesleyan scored two runs in the bottom of the first inning (2-0).
• First year AJ Enginger (Hamilton, Ohio/Badin) homered to put the Saints on the board 2-1 in the top of the second inning.
• In the top of the third inning, Junior Derek Atwood (Burlington, Ky./Conner) would single to score sophomore Gavin Pearson (Burlington, Ky./Cooper) to tie the game at 2-2.
• Indiana Wesleyan scored 13 runs in the bottom of the third inning and three runs in the bottom of the fourth (18-2).
• Senior Brett Benzinger (Taylor Mill, New Richmond) hit a homerun in the top of the fifth inning (18-3).
• Senior Bailey Martin (Independence, Ky./Simon Kenton) singled to score first year Gavin Vogelgesang in the top of the seventh inning (18-4).

• Bailey Martin went 2-3 at the plate with a double and RBI.
• Senior Aiden Reverman (West Chester, Ohio/Lakota West) was 2-3 with a double.

• First year left handed pitcher Ben Duncan (Hilliard, Ohio/Hilliard Bradley) pitched 2.2 innings giving up 11 earned runs off seven hits and struck out three.
• Junior right handed pitcher Jackson Hall (Hebron, Ky./Conner) pitched 0.0 innings giving up four earned runs off three hits.
• Junior left handed pitcher Noah Weingartner (Cincinnati, Ohio/La Salle) pitched 2.1 innings, giving up three earned runs off four hits.
• Sophomore left handed pitcher David Anthony (Liberty Township. Ohio/Badin) pitched 1.0 innings, giving up no runs off one hit. 

The Saints return to the field this weekend (April 1) against RV Georgetown (Ky.) beginning at 2:00 pm ET on Thomas More Field.
