Box Score 2 (WILLIAMSBURG, Ky.)- Thomas More's softball team splits day one doubleheader with #21 Cumberlands with the scores of 5-4 (Thomas More) and 8-0 in 5 innings (Cumberlands). The Saints overall record is now 13-16 and 6-14 in the conference.
Game 1: Thomas More 5-4
- To start the scoring off for the Saints in the top of the 2nd inning was sophomore right fielder Sydney Blesdoe (Cincinnati, Ohio/Oak Hills) who scored off of sophomore left fielder Mattison Fisher (Cincinnati, Ohio/Oak Hills) single to second to give the Saints a 1-0 lead. The next hit of the inning was an RBI single to left that came from sophomore third baseman Caitlin Dawson (Georgetown, Ky./Scott County), scoring junior second baseman Lauren Taylor (Reading, Ohio/Mount Notre Dame) to make it a 2-0 game.
- Cumberlands scored three runs in the bottom of the 4th inning. (2-3)
- The Saints had a big 6th inning scoring three runs to regain the lead (5-3). Sophomore pinch runner Kaylee Beal (Lawrenceburg, Ind./East Central) earned the first run on a bobble by the second basemamn to make it a tie ball game (3-3). Fisher on a 0-1 count launched a two run home-run over the right field fence to give the Saints the go ahead runs to give them a 5-3 lead.
- Cumberlands score one run in the bottom of the 6th but it was enough to get the win.
Game 2: Cumberlands 8-0 in 5 innings
- Cumberlands scored two runs in the 2nd, five in the 4th, and one in the 5th to win 8-0.
Game 1:
- Fisher hit three RBIs, scored one run, and had two hits at three at bats.
- Senior first baseman Andrea Gahan's (Cincinnati, Ohio/Oak Hills) went 2-4 at the plate.
- Junior designated player Elana Harrison (Mason, Ohio/Mason) was 2-3 at the plate with a double.
Game 2:
- Senior center fielder Valerie Hudepohl (Cincinnati, Ohio/Oak Hills) was 1-2 at the plate.
- Harrison went 1-2 at the plate.
Game 1:
- Sophomore pitcher Annika Gels (Eaton, Ohio/Eaton) threw 7 innings with four runs off of eight hits and struck out five.
Game 2:
- Sophomore pitcher Olivia Jackson (Florence, Ky./Boone County) started the game pitching 3.2 innings with five runs off of three hits and one strikeout.
- Sophomore pitcher Hannah Bishop (Union, Ky./Ryle) pitched 0.2 innings with three runs off of four hits.
