Senior left-fielder Brady Reynolds (Cincinnati, Ohio/La Salle) would score on the next play from a defensive indifference (2-6). Caruso scored the final run of the inning off a double to right field by junior shortstop Brett Benzinger (Taylor Mill, Ky./ New Richmond) (3-6).
- The Saints had a big scoring 7th inning, starting with first-year pitcher Zach Dugan (Cincinnati, Ohio/Elder) getting walked in (4-6). Next up to the plate was first-year right-fielder Brady Baldock (Burlington, Ky.St.Henry), who singled to right, scoring first-year first baseman David Anthony (Liberty Township, Ohio/Stephen T. Baden) to make it a one score game (5-6). Caruso would then single to left field to send in Nowak for the tying run (6-6). Baldock scored the go ahead run next off a sac fly hit by Benzinger to make it a 7-6 game. First-year second baseman Andrew Stewart (Florence, Ky./St. Henry) and junior pitcher Austin Hoeh (Alexandria, Ky./Campbell County) would both single to left to score Reynolds and Caruso (9-6).
