Box Score 2 (PIKEVILLE, Ky.)- Thomas More softball team splits double header with Pikeville with the scores of 11-3 (Thomas More) and 7-5 (Pikeville). The Saints record overall is. now 14-19 and 7-17 in the conference.
Game 1: Thomas More 11-3
- Pikeville scored three runs in the 2nd inning (0-3).
- Senior left-fielder Valerie Hudepohl (Cincinnati, Ohio/Oak Hills) started the scoring off for the Saints by hitting a double to centerfield to knock in two runs (junior center-fielder Baylee Hobeika (Colerain, Ohio/Colerain) and sophomore shortstop Hailey McAdoo (Cincinnati, Ohio/Mercy McAuley)) to make it a 2-3 game. On the next batter, sophomore second baseman Caitlin Dawson's (Georgetown, Ky./Scott County) and Hudepohl would both score on wild pitches to give the Saints the lead for the first time (4-3). Senior first baseman Andrea Gahan (Cincinnati, Ohio/Oak Hills) would then score on a stolen base to get the last run of the inning to extend the lead to 5-3.
- In the top of the 3rd inning, Hobeika and Dawson would both score of a wild bitch to extended the lead to 7-3.Hobeika singled to third in the top of the 7th to score sophomore pinch runner Kaylee Beal (Lawrenceburg, Ind./East Central) and sophomore right fielder Mattison Fisher (Cincinnati, Ohio/Oak Hills) (9-3). Hobeika would then score off of McAdoo's double to center to make it a 10-3 game. The final run of the game was by McAdoo from Dawson's single to center to give the final of 11-3 Saints.
Game 2: Pikeville
- Pikeville score one run in the 4th inning (0-1).
- In the top of the 6th inning, Beal scored off a fielder's choice hit by Fisher to tie the game up at 1-1.
- Pikeville scored two runs in the 6th inning (2-4).
- In the top of the 7th inning, Hudepohl tripled to left to send in McAdoo and Dawson for the Saints to tie the game on (4-4). Hudepohl would then score on a wild pitch to give them a 5-4 lead. Fisher singled to left to score junior designated player Elana Harrison's (Mason, Ohio/Mason) to extend the Saints lead to 5-3.
- Pikeville scored four runs in the 7th inning off of a walk off home-run.
Game 1:
- McAdoo went 2-4 at the plate with one RBI, one walk, and scored two runs.
- Dawson went 2-5 with one RBI and scored two runs.
- Junior catcher Adrian Marquez (Rushville, Ind./Rushville Consolidated) was 2-4.
- Hobeika went 1-3 with one walk, two RBIs, and scored three runs
Game 2:
- McAdoo went 2-3 at the plate, was walked once, and scored one run.
- Dawson went 2-3 at the plate and scored one run.
- Hobeika was 1-2 with one walk.
- Hudepohl went 1-4 with two RBIs and scored one run.
- Mowen was 2-4.
- Fisher went 2-4 at the plate with two RBIs
Game 1:
- Sophomore pitcher Annika Gels (Eaton, Ohio/Eaton) pitched 6.1 innings with three earned runs off of 13 hits and struck out three.
- First-year pitcher Lindsay Dawson (Georgetown, Ky./Greay Crossing) pitched 0.2 innings with zero runs and hits and struck out one.
Game 2:
- Sophomore pitcher Hannah Bishop (Union, Ky./Ryle) pitched 3.1 innings with six earned runs off of six hits and struck out two.
- Gels pitched 3 innings with zero earned runs off of one hit and struck out one.
