Softball Splits 2-Game Series with #22 Indiana Southeast

(NEW ALBANY, Ind.)- Thomas More's softball team splits two game series with #22 Indiana Southeast. The Saints took game 1, 3-1 but fell in game 2, 4-3. Thomas More's overall record is now 6-13.

GAME 1: TMU 3-1

  • Hailey McAdoo scored on a stolen base to put to give the Saints a 1-0 lead in the top of the 1st inning. 
  • In the top of the 4th, Andrea Gahan would score off of Ashley Pollard's sacrifice fly to left to bump the Saints lead to 2-0. 
  • The Grenadiers would then score one run in the bottom of the 4th to make the score 2-1.
  •  Gahan would score in the top of the 6th off of Adrian Marquez   single to center, to give the Saints a 3-1 lead. 

GAME 2: IUS 4-3

  • McAdoo would score in the top of the 1st inning of Valerie Hudepohl single to left to put the Saints up 1-0.
  • The Grenadiers would come back and score to runs in the bottom of the 1st inning to give them the 2-1 lead. 
  • Becca Mowen doubled to right sending in Sarah Caruso in the top of the 2nd inning to tie the game up. Mowen would score off of Kaylee Beal's ground out to second to give the Saints the lead once again, 3-2.
  • Indiana Southeast would tie things back up in the bottom of the 2nd inning scoring one run (3-3).
  • The Grenadiers would score one run in the bottom of the 5th to give the go ahead lead that would secure them the 4-3 win. 

GAME 1:

  • McAdoo went 2-3 at the plate with one walk and scored one run. 
  • Hudepohl was also 2-3 at the plate.
  • Gahan  went 2-3 at the plate scoring two runs and hit a double.
  • Marquez was 2-3 at the plate with one RBI.

GAME 2:

  • Chloe Woeste went 2-3 at the plate. 
  • Mowen was 3-3 with a double, one RBI and scored one run. 
  • Hudepohl was 1-3 and had one RBI.
  • McAdoo went 1-3 at the plate with one walk and scored one run. 

GAME 1:

  • Annika Gels pitched 7.0 innings for the Saints, striking out five batters and only letting one run off of five hits. 

GAME 2:

  • Hannah Bishop pitched 2.0 innings, letting three runs in off of three hits. 
  • Olivia Jackson pitched 4.0 innings, striking out one and had one earned run off of four hits. 

  • The Saints return to the field March 26 to take on Pikeville in Pikeville, Ky. for the first half of their four game series, starting at 3:00 pm.
