Softball Sweeps Asbury in Doubleheader

(WILMORE, Ky.)- Thomas More's Softball team sweep Asbury in doubleheader 7-4 and 12-6 on Saturday (March 20).

Game 1: 7-4 Thomas More

• Andrea Gahan (Cincinnati, Ohio/Oak Hills) hit a 2-run home-run to right with Valerie Hudepohl (Cincinnati, Ohio/Oak Hills) on base in the top of the 1st inning.
• In the top of the 2nd inning, Adrian Marquez  would score off of Ashley Pollard's single to right.
• In the fifth Asbury would score one.
• Top of the 6th, Hannah Bishop reached base on a bobble of a hit ball she hit and Chloe Woeste advanced and scored. 
• In the bottom of the 6th, Asbury scored one run.
• In the 7th, Asbury scored two runs to tie it up.
• Gahan hit a double to left to score Marquez. Elana Harrison would then follow and double to right scoring Gahan, Harrison would then score from an overthrow off of a hit by Kai Dickerson.

Game 2: Thomas More 12-6

• In the top of the 1st inning, Harrison singled to center and scored Caitlin Dawson and Hudepohl. Nect Pollard singled to left and Harrison scored.
• In the bottom of the first, Asbury scored three runs.

Game 1:

• Gahan went 3-5 with three RBIs, a home-run and a double.
• Hudepohl went 3-5 at the plate with two runs and one RBI.

Game 2:

• Hailey McAdoo went 3-4 at the plate, scoring two runs and hitting one RBI.
• Baylee Hobeika went 2-5 at the plate, with four RBIs.
• Gahan went 2-5 at the plate with two runs and two RBIs.
• Harrison went 2-5 at the plate with two runs and two RBIS.

Game 1:

• Annika Gels threw 10 innings with eight strikeouts and four runs off of 10 hits.

Game 2:

• Hannah Bishop pitched 4.0 innings and had five earned runs off of eight hits.
• Olivia Jackson pitched 3.0 innins and had zero earned runs off of three hits and four strikeouts.

The Saints return to the field March 23 to take on Indiana Southeast in a doubleheader starting at 2:00 pm.
