Box Score 2 (Henderson, Tenn.) – The softball team at Thomas More dropped the final two games of the four-game series against Freed Hardeman by scores of 4-2 and 4-1.
Game 1: 4-2 Freed Hardeman
- Freed scored two in the 1st, one in the 3rd, and one in the 6th.
- Caitlin Dawson (Georgetown, Ky./Scott County) and Baylee Hobeika (Colerain, Ohio/Colerain) would score the two runs for the Saints via triple by Valerie Hudepohl (Cincinnati, Ohio/Oak Hills) in the top of the 5th. Making the score 3-2 at the time.
- Hobekia batted 2-3 with a stolen base and one run scored.
- Hudepohl went 1-4 batting in two runs for TMU.
- Dawson registered a double in three plate appearances while crossing the plate once.
- Sophomore Olivia Jackson (Florence, Ky./Boone County) pitched five innings allowing three runs on five hits.
- Sophomore Hannah Bishop (Union, Ky./Ryle) threw one inning allowing a run while striking out two.
Game 2: 4-1 Freed Hardeman
- Thomas More would strike first via an Elana Harrison (Mason, Ohio/Mason) sac fly that would bring home Hobeika to make the score 1-0 in favor of the Saints.
- Freed Hardeman would come back in the bottom of the 1st to tie up the game at one after one.
- The Lions would go on to score three more runs in the game with one in the 3rd and two in the 4th.
- Hobeika batted .500 for the game with the only runs scored for Thomas More.
- Andrea Gahan (Cincinnati, Ohio/Oak Hills) batted 1-3 while adding a stolen base.
- Harrison drove in the lone run for the Saints.
- Sophomore Annika Gels (Eaton, Ohio/Eaton) threw a complete six innings for TMU allowing four runs on eight hits.
Softball will return to the field on March 16, at home where they will take on Lourdes, first pitch is set for 3 p.m. ET.
