Box Score (MARIETTA, Ga.) – #20 Thomas More men's basketball team traveled to Marietta, Georgia Thursday night (January 28), to take on Life University for the second time this season in a Mid-South Conference match-up. The Saints collect another win to their record with a 85-52 win over the Running Eagle.
- Senior Garren Bertsch (Alexandria, Ky./Campbell County) started things off for the Saints sinking a 3-pointer with 18:02 on the clock, to give them a 3-2 lead over the Running Eagles.
- With 7:17 on the clock, Senior Luke Rudy (Cincinnati, Ohio/Oak Hills) made a two-point shot assisted by Bertsch giving the Saints a strong ten-point lead (18-9).
- Junior Logan Swackhammer (Chillicothe, Ohio/Unioto) secured Thomas More's led to end the first half (30-15) making a shot from the paint, assisted by Redshirt Junior Ryan Batte (Cincinnati, Ohio/Oak Hills).
- Bertsch led the Saints with nine points and three assists in the first half. He also had three rebounds.
- Leading the team with five rebounds was Batte, he also had seven points and two assists.
- Rudy and Sophomore Reid Jolly (Alexandria, Ky./Campbell County) both had six points, three rebounds, and one assist.
- The Saints were 50% (12-24) from the field and 25% (2-8) from the 3-point line.
- Thomas More had 21 rebounds, 10 assists, and 20 points from the paint.
- To start the second half, Jolly swished a three-point shot to further the Saints lead, 33-15 with 19:40 on the clock.
- With 7:46 left in the game, Rudy made his fifth three-point shot of the second half to put the Saints up by 30 points to make the score 69-39.
- Senior Keegan Saben (Centerville, Ohio/Centerville) made a two-point shot to secure the Saints lead, 85-52.
- Rudy led the Saints in the second half with 15 points. He also had one assist.
- Bertsch followed behind with 13 points, four rebounds, and two assists.
- Jolly had 11 points, two rebounds, and one assist.
- Batte led the team with six rebounds and had seven points, and four assists.
- The Saints were 70.37% (19-27) from the field and 60% (9-15) from the three-point line.
- Bertsch led the team with 22 points and had five rebounds, and three assists.
- Rudy followed behind with 21 points, four rebounds, and one assist.
- Jolly had 17 points, five revounds, and two assists.
- Batte led the team with 11 rebounds and six assists and had 14 points.
