Men's Basketball Secures Big Win Over Tiffin on the Road

(TIFFIN, Ohio)-Thomas More University's men's basketball team defeated Tiffin on Saturday, 84-67. The Saints overall record improves to 12-14 and 6-13 in conference.

• Redshirt sophomore Kai Simpson (Lexington, Ky./Frederick Douglass) drove to the rim for a layup to kick things off with 19:43 on the clock to put the Saints up 2-0.
• Sophomore Jashaun Pouncy (Erlanger, Ky./Cooper) slammed the ball in for a dunk to extend the Saints lead to 12-9 with 15:07 to play in the half.
• Sophomore Tyler Johnson (Cincinnati, Ohio/Elder) made a layup with 8:25 to play in the half to tie things up 22-22.
• With 2:54 to play in the half, redshirt sophomore Jack McCune (Paducah, Ky./McCracken County) drained a 3-point basket to give the Saints the go ahead lead (33-31).
• Senior Mitchell Rylee (Ft. Mitchell, KY./Covington Catholic) laid a ball in with 41 seconds left in the half to put the Saints up 37-31.
• The Saints would lead 37-34 at the half.
• Redshirt first year Daniel Allen (Hodgensville, Ky./Larue County) led the team with 10 points and four rebounds and had one assist in the first half.
• Mitchell Rylee tallied eight points, one rebound, and one assist.
• The Saints were 55.2% (16-29) from the field, 44.4% (4-9) from the 3-point line, and 33.3% (1-3) from the free throw line in the first half.

• Kais Simpson banged in a 3-point shot to start off the second half to make it a 40-34 game with 19:37 on the clock.
• With 16:55 to play, Tyler Johnson made a layup to extend the Saints lead to 47-39.
• Daniel Allen laid a ball in with 9:30 to play in the game to make it a 60-47 game.
• Jashaun Pouncy made a layup to extend the Saints lead to 18 with 6:49 to play (69-51).
• Junior Cam McCalin (Louisville, Ky./Louisville Trinity) knocked in a jump shot with 37 seconds left for the Saints final basket (84-65).
• The Saints would defeat the Dragons 84-67.
• Kai Simpson tallied 20 points and six assists in the second half to lead the team and had three rebounds.
• Jashaun Pouncy tallied five rebounds to lead the Saints and had 10 points and one assist.
• Daniel Allen had eight points, one rebound, and one assist.
• The Saints were 57.6% (19-33) from the field, 40% (4-10) from the 3-point line, and 83.3% (5-6) from the free throw line in the second half.
