Men's Basketball Falls to Lake Erie

(CRESTVIEW HILLS, Ky.)-Thomas More University's men's basketball team fell to Lake Erie on Thursday evening (Feb 19), 92-86. The Saints overall record falls to 11-14 and 5-13 in conference.

• Redshirt junior Colin McHale (Cincinnati, Ohio/Turpin) made a driving layup to start things off for the Saints to tie things up 2-2 with 17:59 on the clock.
• Redshirt first year Daniel Allen (Hodgensville, Ky./Larue County) knocked in a turn around shot with 14:20 left in the half to make it a 11-7 game.
• Sophomore Tyler Johnson (Cincinnati, Ohio/Elder) drove to the rim for a layup to extend the Saints lead to 19-9 with 10:37 remaining in the half.
• With 3:04 left in the half, first year Colin McClure (Columbus, Ohio/Dublin Coffman) drained a 3-point shot to put the Saints up 40-29.
• Tyler Johnson made one free throw for the Saints final points with 52 seconds left on the clock (43-36).
• The Saints would lead 43-41 at the half.
• Sophomore Jashaun Pouncy (Erlanger, Ky./Cooper) led the team with 11 points and five rebounds in the first half.
• Daniel Allen had 10 points and four rebounds.
• Tyler Johnson tallied eight points, four rebounds, and two assists.
• The Saints were 55.6% (15-27) from the field, 50% (4-8) from the 3-point line, and 64.3% (9-14) from the free throw line in the first half.  

• Colin McHale made a turn around jump shot in the paint to get things started in the second half with 19:41 on the clock (45-41).
• Tyler Johnson drove to the rim for a layup with 17:16 on the clock to give the Saints the go ahead lead (50-48).
• With 10:35 to play, Jashaun Pouncy made a layup to make it a 67-64 game.
• Colin McClure knocked in two free throws with 5:00 left in the game to put the Saints within one (75-76).
• Senior Ryan Paris (Hilliard, Ohio/Hilliard Davidson) drained a 3-point basket for the Saints final basket with five seconds remaining (86-90).
• The Saints would fall 92-86 to the Storm.
• Redshirt sophomore Kai Simpson (Lexington, Ky./Frederick Douglass) led the team with 14 points and five rebounds in the second half.
• Jashaun Pouncy recorded 10 points and two rebounds and had three assists to lead the Saints.
• The Saints were 55.2% (16-29) from the field, 33.3% (4-12) from the 3-point line, and 50% (7-14) from the free throw line in the second half.

• Jashaun Pouncy led the team with 21 points and three assists and had seven rebounds.
• Kai Simpson recorded 20 points, six rebounds, and two assists.
• Daniel Allen led the Saints with eight rebounds and had 15 points.
• Tyler Johnson had 12 points, seven rebounds, and three assists.
• The Saints were 55.4% (31-56) from the field, 40% (8-20) from the 3-point line, and 57.1% (16-28) from the free throw line.

The Saints return Saturday (Feb 21) at Tiffin beginning at 3:00 pm ET.
