Saints Beaten in Exhibition at Cincinnati, 79-36

(CINCINNATI, Ohio) - The Thomas More University men's basketball team was defeated 79-36 by the University of Cincinnati in an exhibition game tonight (October 31, 2019) at Fifth Third Arena. 

• Thomas More went on a 10-0 run early in the first half, which included two Luke Rudy (Cincinnati, Ohio/Oak Hills) three-pointers, to jump out to a 10-6 lead.
• A Ryan Batte (Cincinnati, Ohio/Oak Hills) three-pointer with 12:36 left in the first half put the Saints up 13-11, but the Bearcats responded with a 27-1 run to close out the first half and take a 38-14 lead into halftime.
• Batte finished the half with seven points and six rebounds, and Rudy added six points for the Saints.

• Rudy hit his third three-pointer of the evening for the Saints' first points of the half.
• Junior Keegan Saben (Centerville, Ohio/Centerville) converted a three-point play with 12:31 to go in the half to cut the Bearcats' lead to 53-23.
• Sophomore Tyrice Walker (Hamilton, Ohio/Summit Country Day) knocked down a three-pointer with 5:06 remaining to make the score 72-30.
• First-year guard Reid Jolly (Alexandria, Ky./Campbell County) scored seven second half points for Thomas More.

• The Saints shot .239 from the field and .238 from three-point range.
• Rudy led the Saints with 10 points, shooting 3-7 from three-point range.
• Batte finished with nine points and six rebounds.
• Jolly (Alexandria, Ky./Campbell County) ended the game with seven points and two steals.

• Thomas More will host its home opener against UC Clermont on Saturday (November 2) at 1 p.m.
