Box Score (CRESTVIEW HILLS, Ky.) – The Thomas More College women's lacrosse team fell, 7-5, to Hanover College today (Wednesday, April 13, 2016) in an Ohio River Lacrosse Conference (ORLC) match at BB&T Field in Crestview Hills, Kentucky.
With the loss, the Saints fall to 1-8 overall and 0-4 in the ORLC and the Panthers improve to 5-9 overall and 2-5 in the PAC with the win.
Thomas More took an early 4-0 lead as junior Josie Perrino (Tracey, Calif./St. Mary's) scored at the 27:13 mark of the first half, junior Christy Smith (Washington Courthouse, Ohio/Washington) scored at the 26:44 mark and the 23:11 mark and junior Tori Liles (Tollesboro, Ky./Lewis County) scored at the 20:31 mark. Hanover scored twice before halftime to cut the lead to 4-2 at the break.
Hanover scored early in the second half to cut the lead to 4-3 and then Liles scored at the 24:20 mark to extend the lead to 5-3. The Panthers would close out the match with four straight goals for the 7-5 victory.
Sophomore Mollie Mosley (St. Bernard, Ohio/McAuley) played all 60 minutes in goal and recorded eight saves.
The Saints out-shot Hanover 24-18 and won the battle of ground balls 8-7.
Thomas More returns to action on Friday (April 15) when it travels to Danville, Kentucky to play in-state rival Centre College at 7 p.m.
