Box Score (HANOVER, Ind.) – The Thomas More College women's lacrosse team fell, 9-7, to Hanover College today (Sunday, April 12, 2015) in an Ohio River Lacrosse Conference (ORLC) match at Alumni Stadium in Greenville, Pennsylvania.
With the loss, the Saints fall to 0-9 overall and 0-8 in the ORLC. With the win, the Panthers improve to 3-10 overall and 2-6 in the ORLC.
Thomas More took an early 2-0 lead as freshman Rachel Smith (Springboro, Ohio/Springboro) scored with 27:59 to play in the first half and sophomore Josie Perrino (Tracey, Calif./St. Mary's) scored at the 27:10 mark of the half off an assist from sophomore Christy Smith (Washington Courthouse, Ohio/Washington). Hanover scored with 23:25 to play in the half to cut the lead to 2-1. Sophomore Tori Liles (Tollesboro, Ky./Lewis County) increased the Saints' lead to 4-1 as she scored with 29:09 and 21:38 to play in the opening half. The Panthers scored with 21:13 to play in the half to cut the lead to 4-2 and then freshman Abby Stadtmiller (Alexandria, Ky./Bishop Brossart) scored off a Christy Smith goal with 10:35 to play in the half and Liles added a goal with 9:39 to play in the half to extend the lead to 6-2. Hanover scored with 6:17 to play in the half to cut the lead to 6-3 at halftime.
Hanover scored three straight goals to open the second half and tie the match at 6-6 with 13:35 to play in the match. Perrino scored off a Christy Smith assist with 11:08 to play in the match to give the Saints a 7-6 lead. Hanover closed the match with three straight goals to win the match 9-7.
Freshman Mollie Mosley (St. Bernard, Ohio/McAuley) played all 60 minutes in goal and recorded seven saves.
Thomas More closes out the season on April 17 when it travels to Defiance, Ohio to play Defiance College at 6 p.m.
