Box Score (CRESTVIEW HILLS, Ky.) – The Thomas More College women's lacrosse team fell, 16-4, to across-the-river rival Mount St. Joseph University today (Wednesday, April 1, 2015) in an Ohio River Lacrosse Conference (OLRC) match at The Bank of Kentucky Field in Crestview Hills, Kentucky.
With the loss, the Saint fall to 0-6 overall and 0-5 in the ORLC. With the win, the Lions improve to 4-5 overall and 3-2 in the ORLC.
Mount St. Joseph took an early 5-0 lead. The Saints cut the lead to 5-1 freshman Abby Stadtmiller (Alexandria, Ky./Bishop Brossart) scored with 19:57 to play in the first half. MSJ added three goals to increase the lead to 8-1 before freshman Amy Rice (Somerset, Ky./Pulaski County) scored on a free position shot to cut the lead to 8-2 with 8:50 to play in the opening half. The Lions scored a goal in the final minutes of the half to increase the lead to 9-2 at halftime.
The Lions scored six straight goals to open the second half to increase the lead to 15-2. Sophomore Megan Klever (Sylvania, Ohio/Northview) scored at the 12:31 mark and Stadtmiller scored at the 1:32 mark of the second half, while MSJ scored between the two Saint goals for the final score of 16-4.
Freshman Maddie Pohlgeers (Fort Mitchell, Ky./Holy Cross) played all 60 minutes in goal and recorded eight saves.
Thomas More is idle until April 8 when it hosts Transylvania University at 5 p.m. at The Bank of Kentucky Field.
