Box Score (ST. LOUIS, Mo.) - The Thomas More College volleyball team fell, 3-0, to fifth-ranked Emory University today (Saturday, November 15, 2014) in a second round match of the NCAA Division III Championship's St. Louis Regional at the Washington University Field House in St. Louis, Missouri. Emory won by the scores of 25-23, 25-21 and 26-24.
With the loss, the Saints end the season at 30-5. With the win, the Eagles improve to 36-3 and will play either Washington-St. Louis or Hendrix College tomorrow in the championship match of the St. Louis Regional.
Freshman setter Jenna Fessler (Fort Mitchell, Ky./Beechwood) paced the Saints' offense with 31 assists. Senior outside hitter Felicity Britt (Alexandria, Ky./Bishop Brossart) led the attack with 11 kills, while junior outside hitter Stacy Howell (Cincinnati, Ohio/Glen Este) finished with nine kills.
Defensively, the Saints were led by senior defensive specialist Kelsey Castiglioni (Harrison Township, Mich./L'Anse Creuse) with 24 digs and sophomore defensive specialist Libbi Giuliano (Cincinnati, Ohio/McAuley) with eight digs.
