(Indianapolis, IN) - The Thomas More women's volleyball team faced off against West Viginia State and Tiffin to kick off the 2025 season at the UIndy Invitational on Friday (September, 5th). Thomas More fell to West Virginia State in five sets, and then fell to Tiffin in four sets.
Match 1: West Virginia State defeats Thomas More, 3-2.
- WVSU won the opening set 25 to 17.
- TMU won the second set 25 to 18.
- WVSU won the third set 25 to 23.
- Thomas More won the fourth set 25 to 16 to force the fifth set.
- WVSU took the fifth set 15 to 10.
Match 2: Tiffin defeats Thomas More, 3-1.
- Thomas More won the opening set 28 to 26.
- Tiffin won the second set 25 to 20.
- Tiffin took the third set again 25 to 20.
- Tiffin won the match with a fourth set victory of 25 to 21.
Match 1:
- Senior Ebony Gomez (Merida, Venezuela/Colegio Salesiano San Luis) led the Saints with 22 kills in the match along with 11 digs.
- Sophomore Audrey Warrick (Linton, IN/Linton Stockton) recorded a team high 36 assists in the match and tied for team lead in digs with 17.
- Sophomore libero Taylor Stivers (Louisville, KY / Atherton) recorded 17 digs in the match.
Match 2:
- Ebony Gomez led the Saints in kills with 11.
- Audrey Warrick led the Saints in assists with 36 and service aces with 4.
- First year Riley Osbourne (Louisville, KY / DuPont Manual) posted a team high 11 digs in the match.
The Thomas More women's volleyball team returns to play on Saturday (September 6) against Wisconsin-Parkside at UIndy. The match is set for 1:30 PM.
