Box Score (WAYNESBURG, Pa.) - The Thomas More College volleyball team remained undefeated in the Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) as it defeated Waynesburg University, 3-0, tonight (Friday, October 12, 2012) at the Rudy Marisa Fieldhouse in Waynesburg, Pennsylvania. The Saints won the match by the scores of 25-12, 25-16 and 25-13.
With the win, the Saints improve to 18-4 overall and 11-0 in the PAC. With the loss, the Yellow Jackets, fall to 5-15 overall and 1-11 in the PAC.
The Saints' offense was paced by senior setter Tori Verville (Edgewood, Ky./Holy Cross) with 16 assists and freshman setter Natalie Lietz (Cincinnati, Ohio/Seton) with nine assists. Junior middle blocker Tyler Deaton (Lexington, Ky./Lexington Catholic) led the team in kills with six, while freshman middle hitte Aprill Jackson (Eaton, Ohio/Eaton) added five and sophomore outside hitter Karsen Cronin (Fairfield, Ohio/Fairfield), sophomore outside hitter Holly Bronner (Reading, Ohio/Mount Notre Dame) and freshman outside hitter Alyssa Redoute (Harrison Township, Mich./L'Anse Cruese) each added four kills.
Defensively, the Saints were led by sophomore defensive specialist Kelsey Castiglioni (Harrison Township, Mich./L'Anse Cruese) with 15 digs and sophomore defensive specialist Christina Brackett-Newport (Louisville, Ky./Seneca) with seven digs.
Thomas More closes out its three day road trip tomorrow when it plays Bethany College at 2 p.m. in Bethany, West Virginia.
