Saints fall to Findlay in second half battle

(FINDLAY, OH) – The Thomas More University women's lacrosse team fell to the University of Findlay Oilers on Saturday (April 11) by a score of 13-9. The Saints fall to 2-12 on the season and 1-5 in the G-MAC.
 
How they scored
  • Findlay scored the first three goals before Thomas More responded with three of their own in the first quarter. The Saints' goals were scored by sophomore Elina Emmons (Fairfield, OH / Fairfield), junior Alex Nunn (Loveland, OH / Loveland), and freshman Payton Davis (Springboro, OH / Springboro). Alex Nunn was credited with the assist on Elina Emmons' goal.
  • Thomas More continued the momentum as Alex Nunn scored again at the 13:18 mark of the second quarter to take a 4-3 lead.
  • Junior Anna Wells (West Chester, OH / Lakota West) scored on a man-up opportunity before Alex Nunn had her third goal as the Saints expanded their lead to 6-4 with 7:47 left in the first half.
  • Senior Meg Pierani (Lawrenceburg, IN / Mercy McAuley) scored on a man-up scenario before Walsh tied the game at 7 before halftime.
  • The Oilers scored three goals to start the third quarter before Alex Nunn had her fourth goal.
  • The fourth quarter score matched the third quarter as Payton Davis scored while man-down with an assist from Alex Nunn.
 
Notables
  • Alex Nunn scored four goals, including three on free position attempts. She also had two assists, team-high eight total shots, team-high three caused turnovers, and five draw controls.
  • Payton Davis scored on both of her shots
  • Anna Wells and Meg Pierani each had a goal. Anna Wells took five shots and had six draw controls.
 
Up Next
The Saints will return home to conclude the regular season. First they will take on Lake Erie on Thursday (April 16) with the game scheduled to begin at 6:00 PM.
