Baseball Takes Down Tiffin in Game One

Box Score (FLORENCE, Ky.)-Thomas More University's baseball team defeat Tiffin 7-4 on Friday (March 6), 7-4. The Saints overall record improves to 6-3.

• Tiffin scored two runs in the top of the first inning (2-0).
• In the bottom of the first, Junior Nolan Krekeler (Loveland, Ohio/Moeller) singled down the left field line to score junior Ty Cunningham (Fairfield, Ohio/Fairfield) to put the Saints within one (2-1). Nolan Krekeler would score on a wild pitch to tie things up 2-2. Sophomore Drew Barth (Ft. Thomas, Ky./Highlands) singled to left field to send in senior Gunner Kalkhoff (Cincinnati, Ohio/LaSalle) to put the Saints ahead 3-2.
• Gunner Kalkhoff would doubled to left field to score Nolan Krekeler, Ty Cunningham, and first year Ian Mann (Newport, Ky./Newport Central Catholic) to extend the Saints lead to 6-2 in the bottom of the second.
• In the bottom of the third, first year Sean O'Donnell (Pittsburgh, Penn./North Allegheny) singled up the middle to score Ian Mann to put the Saints up 7-2.
• Tiffin scored two runs in the top of the fourth inning (7-4).

• Ty Cunningham went 2-4 with a double and scored two runs.
• Nolan Krekeler was 2-3 with one RBI and scored two runs.
• Gunner Kalkhoff went 2-3 at the plate and had three RBIs, one double, and scored one run.

• Redshirt sophomore Joe Stone (Waynesville, Ohio/Waynesville) pitched 6.0 innings, allowing four earned runs off seven hits and struck out seven.
• Sophomore Aaron Wichmann (Burlington, Ky./Conner) pitched 2.0 innings, allowing no runs off one hit and struck out three.
• Sophomore Cameron Snider (Amelia, Ohio/Bethel-Tate) pitched 1.0 innings, allowing no runs off one hit and struck out one.

The Saints return tomorrow (March 6) for game two against Tiffin beginning at 4:00 pm ET at Thomas More Stadium.
