(CINCINNATI, OH.) – Thomas More University men's track and field team took 2nd at the Mount St. Joseph College Invite on Saturday, January 11th with a team score of 71. The team braved the weather and several athletes walked away from the Centennial Fieldhouse with PRs from the meet.
- Sophomore Carter Engle (Independence, KY./Holy Cross) was one of two Saints to earn two PRs on the day through his races in the 5000m and 3000m runs. Engle crossed the line in 16:39 and 9:42 respectively, earning 10 points for the team between those events.
- First Year Noah Miller (Union, KY. /Cooper) placed 1st in the 5000 m run with a time of 16:09.35.
- Sophomore Marcus Johnson (Cincinnati, OH./West Clermont/Hocking) placed 6th in the 60 m Dash (7.12 s).
- First-Year Keegan Mehr (Brookville, OH./Brookville) placed 5th in the 200 m Dash with a time of 23.91 and 3rd in the High Jump (1.68 m).
- First-Year Andrew Witherington (Lexington, KY./Tates Creek) placed 3rd in the 400 m Dash with a time of 53.85.
- The 4x200 m Relay team placed 2nd with a time of 1:35.15.
- Junior Jude Theriot (Independence, KY./Simon Kenton) scored for the Saints in the open 800 meter run, clocking a 2:09 indoor finish.
- Sophomore Carson Oldham (Flemingsburg, KY./Fleming County) also earned two PRs in both the Shot Put and Weight Throw, placing 6th and 9th by hitting the 12.94 m and 11.95 m mark, respectively.
This young team noted that it was a good start to the season, but looks forward to progressing over the next four months and will continue their training before heading south to the PNC Bank Bellarmine Classic on January 24th, hosted by Bellarmine University.
