Saints Swept by Georgetown on Sunday Afternoon

(GEORGETOWN, Ky)-Thomas More University's softball was swept by Georgetown (Ky.) on Sunday (March, 26th) afternoon. The Tigers took game 1 by a score of 4 to 3, and took game 2 by a score of 10 to 5. The Saints drop to an overall record of 14-8 and a Mid South Conference record of 5-5.

How they scored
Game 1: Georgetown 4-3
  • Graduate student Maclai Branson (Union, Ky. / Rule) got the Saints going in the top of the first with an RBI double to give TMU the lead. (1-0)
  • Georgetown answered with 3 runs in the bottom of the first. (1-3)
  • Georgetown scored another run in the bottom of the third (1-4)
  • In the top of the 4th inning, junior Tori Madden (Anderson, Ohio / Anderson) hit a sacrifice fly to bring home another Saint run. (2-4)
  • Maclai Branson hit an RBI triple in the 5th to make it a one run game. (3-4)
Game 2: Georgetown 10-5
  • Junior Delaney Kemper (Williamstown, Ky. / Williamstown) had an RBI groundout to put the Saints out in front. (1-0)
