#1 Women's Basketball Remain Undefeated at Home with 88-61 Win Over Bethel (Tenn.)

(CRESTVIEW HILLS, Ky.)-#1 Thomas More University women's basketball team defeated Bethel (Tenn.) on Thursday evening (February 9), 88-61. The Saints overall record improves to 24-1 and 18-1 in conference.
First Half
  • Junior Rachel Martin (Cincinnati, Ohio/Summit Country Day) started things off for the Saints with a layup to put the team within two with 7:54 on the clock in the first quarter (2-4).
  • With 5:34 on the clock, senior Emily Simon (Hilliard, Ohio/Hilliard Davidson) drained a 3-point basket to help give the Saints a 9-6 lead.
  • Junior Kelly Brenner (Cincinnati, Ohio/Roger Bacon) hit a 3-point shot at the buzzer to lead 25-12 going into the second quarter.
  • Senior Courtney Hurst (Burlington, Ky./Conner) made a 3-point shot to get things started for the Saints in the second quarter with 9:52 to play in the half (28-12).
  • Rachel Martin knocked in a 3-pointer with 6:15 on the clock to make it a 39-17 game.
