(CRESTVIEW HILLS, Ky.) – The Thomas More women's basketball team celebrated Senior Day Saturday afternoon at the Connor Convocation Center with a 79-51 victory over the Freed-Hardeman University Lions.

Zoie Barth (Fort Thomas, Ky.),
Courtney Hurst (Burlington, Ky./Conner),
Emily Simon (Hilliard, Ohio/Hilliard Davidson/University of Charleston), and
Sammi Whiteman (Covington, Ohio/Covington/Trevecca Nazarene University) were all honored before the contest for the Saints.
- After being tied 5-5 early on, the Saints jumped out to a seven-point, 14-7 lead after a 9-2 run.
- Emily Simon made two threes while Rachel Martin (Cincinnati, Ohio/Summit Country Day) knocked down one during the rally.
- The lead continued to grow throughout the quarter as the Saints took a 20-7 lead into the second quarter. They didn't allow a single point from the Lions for the final 3:04 of the quarter.
- The Lions knocked the lead back down to 10 at 25-15 with 5:19 to play in the half.
- However, the Saints dominated from there, ending the half on a 9-4 flurry to take a 34-19 halftime lead.
- At the break, Simon led the Saints with 12 points, while Zoie Barth had seven.
- The third quarter was dominated by the Saints, as they made their first six shots of the quarter, including threes from Courtney Hurst, Simon and Barth. They held a 50-24 lead at this point.
- The lead grew to 33 in the quarter after a Kelly Brenner (Cincinnati, Ohio/Roger Bacon) jumper made it 66-33 with just 38 seconds left in the third quarter.
- Barth scored 11 in the quarter for Thomas More.
- The fourth quarter was more of the same for the Saints, as their lead grew to as many as 35 at 77-42.
- Junior Maggie Jones (Piner, Ky./Simon Kenton) led Thomas More in scoring in the final 10 minutes with five points.
- Simon led all scorers with 19 points, a season-high on 6-12 shooting. She also led the team with seven rebounds.
- Barth was right behind her with 18 points, her 10th game this season with 16 or more points.
- Rylee Turner (Newport, Ky./Newport Central Catholic) led Thomas More with five assists, which is a season-high. She also had a team-high three steals, which tied her season-high.
- Thomas More was 28-63 (44.4%) from the field and 14-36 (38.9%) from beyond the arc.
The Saints return to the Connor Convocation Center for a contest with the Shawnee State University Bears on Thursday evening at 5:30 p.m. They beat the Bears on the road on Dec. 10, 2022, by a final score of 77-63.
