Box Score 2 Campbellsville, Ky. - The softball program at Thomas More fell to the receiving votes Tigers of Campbellsville University in both games on day two by scores of 3-0 and 14-4. With the losses the Saints fall to 12-26 on the year and 8-19 in Mid-South Conference play.
Game One: Campbellsville won 3-0.
- Campbellsville would get on the board early as they would add a pair of runs to take a 2-0 lead after one.
- The Tigers would score one more run in the bottom of the fifth to bring the final tally to 3-0 in favor of Campbellsville.
- Junior Mattison Fisher (Cincinnati, Ohio/Oak Hills) went three-for-three in the game with a double.
- Senior Baylee Hobeika (Colerain, Ohio/Colerain) went two-for-three in the game.
- Senior Adrian Marquez (Rushville, Ind. / Rushville Consolidated) collected the other hit for the Saints in two plate appearances.
- Junior Annika Gels (Eaton, Ohio/Eaton) pitched six innings allowing three runs on seven hits.
Game Two: Campbellsville won 14-4 in five innings.
- The Tigers would jump out to an early 7-0 lead after two innings of play.
- In the top of the third senior Elana Harrison (Mason, Ohio/Mason) would hit a sacrifice fly to score Hailey McAdoo (Cincinnati, Ohio/Mercy McAuley) to cut the deficit to 7-1.
- Graduate Valerie Hudepohl (Cincinnati, Ohio/Oak Hills) would score Caitlin Dawson (Georgetown, Ky./Scott County) on a single to center to bring the score to 7-2.
- Marquez would put the ball in play to score Hobeika from third on an error.
- Becca Mowen (Eaton, Ohio/Eaton) would single up the middle to score Hudepohl from third to cut the lead to 7-4.
- Campbellsville would add three more runs in the bottom of the third to increase the lead to 10-4.
- The Tigers would score four more runs in the bottom of the fifth to bring the final tally to 14-4.
- McAdoo went one-for-two at the dish with a run scored and a walk.
- Hudepohl went one-for-three at the plate with a run scored and an rbi.
- Dawson also collected a hit in three plate appearances with a run scored.
- Mowen went one-for-three with an rbi.
- Sophomore Cassidy King (Huber Heights, Ohio/Wayne) would get the start, pitching 1 2/3 innings six runs on six hits.
- Junior Hannah Bishop (Union, Ky./Ryle) threw 1 1/3 innings allowing three earned runs on five hits.
- First-year Emma Kent (Hamilton, Ohio / Badin) pitched 1 2/3 innings allowing four runs on three hits.
Softball will return to the diamond on Monday, April 18 when they travel to Wilmore, Kentucky to take on Asbury in a double header with first pitch set for 1 p.m. ET.
