Box Score (PORTSMOUTH, Ohio)-Thomas More University softball team fell to Shawnee State 5-1 on Monday (April 11) in game one. Game two was canceled after the first inning due to weather. The Saints overall record falls to 12-22 AND 8-15 in conference.
Game 1: Shawnee State 1-5
- Shawnee scored one run in the bottom of the first and two runs in the bottom of the third (0-3),
- Junior Caitlin Dawson (Georgetown, Ky./Scott) stole home to get the Saints on the board in the top of the fifth inning (1-3).
- Shawnee scored two runs in the bottom of the sixth (1-5).
Game 1:
- Caitlin Dawson went 2-4 at the plate with a double and scored one run.
- Senior Adrian Marquez (Rushville, Ind./Rushville Consolidated) was 1-2.
Game 1:
- Junior Annika Gels (Eaton, Ohio/Eaton) pitched 6.0 innings, giving up five runs (four earned) off seven hits, and struck out six.
The Saints return to the field on Saturday (April 15) against RV Campbellsville in a doubleheader in Campbellsville, Ky. at 2:00 pm ET.
