Softball Drops Double Header to #15 Freed Hardeman

(CRESTVIEW HILLS, Ky.)-Thomas More University softball team drops double header to #15 Freed Hardeman 8-2 and 19-8 The Saints overall record falls to 2-8 and 2-6 in conference. 

Game 1: 

• Freed Hardeman scored four runs in the top of the second inning (4-0)
• Junior Hailey McAdoo (Cincinnati, Ohio/Mercy McAuley) hit a single in the bottom of the third inning to send in graduate student Valerie Hudepohl (Cincinnati, Ohio/Oak Hills) to put the Saints on the board (4-1).
• Freed Hardeman scored two runs in the fifth inning (6-1)
• Sophomore Kai Dickerson (Walton, Ky./Ryler) scored in the bottom of the fifth inning on a wild pitch (6-2).
• Freed Hardeman scored two runs in the top of the seventh inning (8-2)

Game 2:

• Freed Hardman scored five runs in the top of the second inning (5-0).
• Junior Caitlin Dawson (Georgetown, Ky./Georgetown) singled to score Valerie Hudepohl in the bottom of the third inning to put the Saints on the board (5-1). First year Madison Vaughn (Cincinnati, Ohio/Seton) stepped up to the plate for a single for an RBI to score Caitlin Dawson to make it a 5-2 game. Senior Lauren Taylor (Reading, Ohio/Mount Notre Dame) singled to right field to score sophomore Sarah Caruso (Rootstown, Ohio/Rootstown) to put the Saints within two (5-3)
• Freed Hardeman scored three runs in the top of the fourth inning (8-3).
• In the bottom of the fourth inning, Valerie Hudepohl would score off an error to make it a (8-4) game. Senior Baylee Hobeika (Colerain, Ohio/Colerain) would single to send in Hailey McAdoo to cut the score to 8-5.
• Freed Hardemann scored three runs in the top of the fifth inning and two runs in the sixth inning (13-5).
• In the bottom of the sixth inning, Baylee Hobeika hit a double to send in junior Sarah Dougoud (Reading, Ohio/Roger Bacon) (13-6).
• Freed Hardeman scored six runs in the top of the seventh inning (19-6).
• Junior Sydney Bledsoe (Cincinnati, Ohio/Oak Hills) doubled to send in Lauren Taylor (19-7) in the bottom of the seventh inning. Sydney Bledsoe would score off an error from a hit ball Hailey McAdoo (19-8).

Game 1:

• Valerie Hudepohl went 2-4 at the plate and scored one run.
• Hailey McAdoo was 2-4 at the plate with one RBI.
• Junior Mattison Fisher (Cincinnati, Ohio/Oak Hills) was 1-2 at the plate with a double.
• Senior Adrian Marquez (Rushville, Ind./Rushville Consolidated) went 1-2 with a double.
• Kai Dickerson went 1-2 at the plate and scored one run.

Game 2:

• Sydney Bledsoe went 1-1 at the plate with a double and scored one run.
• Baylee Hobeika went 3-3 with two RBIs.
• Lauren Taylor was 3-4 with one RBI and scored one run.
• Valerie Hudepohl was 1-2 scoring two runs.
• Hailey McAdoo was 2-4 scoring one run.

Game 1:

• Sophomore Cassidy King (Huber Heights, Ohio/Wayne) pitched 5.0 innings, giving up six runs (five earned) off six hits, and struck out three batters.
• Junior Hannah Bishop (Union, Ky./Ryle) pitched two innings, giving up two earned runs off three hits.

Game 2:

• Junior pitcher Annika Gels (Eaton, Ohio/Eaton) pitched 6 innings, giving up six earned runs off six hits, and struck out two.
• First year Emma Kent (Hamilton, Ohio/Badin) pitched 1.1 innings, giving up five earned runs off three hits, and struck out one. 
• Hannah Bishop pitched 1.2 innings, giving up two earned runs off four hits and struck out one.
• Junior Emily Wisman (Okeana, Ohio/Harrison) pitched 1.0 innings, giving up six runs (five earned) off four hits, and struckout one.

The Saints return the field on Tuesday (March 8) as they travel to Mobile, Ala. to face William Woods at 2:00 pm and RV Mobile at 6:00 pm ET.
