Box Score 2 (GEORGETOWN, Ky.)-Thomas More University softball team fell in their season opener to Georgetown (Ky.) in a double header on Tuesday (Feb. 15), with the scores of 2-3 and 4-12. The Saints overall record falls to 0-2.
Game 1: Georgetown 2-3
- Georgetown scored one run in the bottom of the second inning (0-1).
- Senior first baseman Elana Harrison (Mason, Ohio/Mason) hit a single to centerfield in the top of the fourth inning to send in graduate student centerfielder Valerie Hudepohl (Cincinnati, Ohio/Oak Hills) and junior second baseman Caitlin Dawson (Georgetown, Ky./Scott) for two RBIs to give the Saints the lead (2-1).
- Georgetown scored on run in the bottom of the fourth to tie the game up at 2-2.
- In the bottom of sixth inning, Georgetown scored the go ahead run to win the game 2-3.
Game 2:
- In the top of the first inning, junior third baseman Hailey McAdoo (Cincinnati, Ohio/Mercy McAuley) scored on error to put the Saints on the board (1-0). Senior left fielder Bailey Hobeika (Colerain, Ohio/Colerain) would step up to the plate and hit a RBI single to send in Elana Harrison (2-0).
- Georgetown would score two runs in the bottom of the first (2-2).
- Cailtin Dawson would reach first on an error to score senior catcher Lauren Taylor (Reading, Ohio/Mount Notre Dame) to help the Saints regain the lead (3-2).
- Georgetown would score one run in the bottom of the second inning (3-3).
- In the top of the fourth inning, Lauren Taylor would hit a sac fly to right to score junior right fielder Sydney Bledsoe (Cincinnati, Ohio/Oak Hills) for the Saints lead once again (4-3).
- Georgetown scored four runs in the bottom of the fourth (4-7).
- Georgetown scored four runs in the bottom of the fifth inning (4-11) and one run in the bottom of the sixth inning to end the game with a score of 4-12.

- Sophomore designated hitter Delaney Kemper (Williamstown, Ky./Williamstown) went 2-3 at the plate.
- Lauren Taylor was 1-2 at the plate with one rbi and scored one run.
Game 1:
- Senior pitcher Annika Gels () pitched two innings, giving up one earned run off one hit and struck out one,
- Junior pitcher Hannah Bishop () pitched four innings, giving up one earned run off four hits and struck out one.
Game 2:
- Sophomore pitcher Cassidy King (Huber Heights, Ohio/Wayne) pitched 3.1 innings, allowing six earned runs off eight hits, and struck out three.
- First year pitcher Emma Kent (Hamilton, Ohio/Badin) pitched 1.1 inning, giving up five earned runs off four hits, and struck out one.
- Sophomore Lindsay Dawson (Georgetown, Ky./Great Crossing) pitched 0.1 inning allowing no earned runs off three hits.
The Saints return to the field on Feb. 25 to kick off conference play against Cumberland (Tenn.) in Lebanon, Tenn. at 2:00 pm & 4:00 pm ET.
