#1 Women's Basketball Rolls up 90-52 Victory Over Bethel Behind a Big Shooting Day for the Saints

(MCKENZIE, Tenn.)-#1 Thomas More University women's basketball team defeat Bethel (Tenn.) on Saturday (December 17), 90-52. The Saints overall record improves to 14-0 and 8-0 in conference.

  • Senior Emily Simon (Hilliard, Ohio/Hilliard Davidson) drained a 3-point basket to start the scoring off for the Saints with 9:15 on the clock in the first quarter (3-0).
  • Junior Alex Smith (Cincinnati, Ohio/Mercy McAuley) made a 3-point shot with 4:59 to play in the first quarter to extend the Saints lead to 15-4.
  • First year Rylee Turner (Newport, Ky./Newport Central Catholic) would drive to the rim for a basket for the Saints final basket of the quarter, to give the Saints a 25-10 lead going into the second quarter.
  • Alex Smith made a layup for the Saints first basket of the second quarter to make it a 15 point game with 8:45 to play in the first half (27-12).
