#2 Men's Basketball Remain Undefeated in Conference with Big Win Over #8 Georgetown

(GEORGETOWN, Ky.)-#2 Thomas More University men's basketball team defeated #8 Georgetown (Ky.) on Saturday afternoon (November 19), 61-38. The Saints overall record improves to 5-0 and 2-0 in conference.

First Half
  • Redshirt junior Reid Jolly (Alexandria, Ky./Campbell County) drove to the rim for a layup to kick off the Saints 8-0 run over the Tigers to start off the game with 16:50 on the clock (2-2).
  • Redshirt junior Noah Pack (Georgetown, Ohio/Georgetown) made back to back layups to help the Saints regain the lead with 5:35 to play in the first half (18-17).
  • Sophomore Casey George (Pickerington, Ohio/Pickerington North) would make the Saints final basket of the half with a 3-point basket and close out the team's 13-0 run over the Tigers, going into the locker room with a 26-17 lead at the half.
  • Reid Jolly led the team in the first half with 10 points and five rebounds and had two assists.
  • Casey George followed with five points and two rebounds. 
  • Redshirt sophomore transfer Matt Smith (Charlotte, North Carolina/Independence) led the team in assists with two. 
  • The Saints were 35.5% (11-31) from the field, 28.6% (4-14) from the 3-point line, and 0% (0-2) from the free throw line in the first half. 
Second Half
  • Reid Jolly knocked down a jump shot for the Saints first basket of the second half to extend the lead to 28-17 with 19:19 to play.
  • Redshirt first year Derek Eddings (Cincinnati, Ohio/La Salle) made a jump shot with 8:54 to play in the game (44-25).
  • With 4:50 to play in the game, Jacob Jones would drive to the basket to make it a 18 point game (51-33).
  • Casey George would make the Saints final of the game to secure the team's 61-38 win over the Tigers with 41 seconds left.
  • Reid Jolly tallied 10 points and five rebounds to lead the team in the second half and half one assist.
  • Noa Pack followed with nine points, two rebounds, and one assist.
  • Jacob Jones led the team with four assists and had six points and two rebounds.
