Box Score (Crestview Hills, Ky.) - The softball program at Thomas More picked up their first win since February 27 over Lourdes on Tuesday by a score of 3-0. With the win TMU improves to 3-12 overall.
- Sohpomore shortstop Hailey McAdoo (Cincinnati, Ohio/Mercy McAuley) led of the bottom of the third inning with a triple to deep right center field. McAdoo would score on the next batter as left fielder Baylee Hobeika (Colerain, Ohio/Colerain) would put a ball in play that allowed McAdoo to cross home plate, making the score 1-0 Saints after three.
- Sophomore Hannah Bishop (Union, Ky./Ryle) came in to pinch hit in the fourth with Kaylee Beal (Lawrenceburg, Ind./East Central) on second after she pinch ran for Ashley Pollard (Florence, Ky./St. Henry) who doubled. Bishop hit a single into left field that would be enough for Beal to score, making the score 2-0 TMU.
- Junior outfielder Valerie Hudepohl (Cincinnati, Ohio/Oak Hills) singled with two outs, proceeded to steal a base, advanced to third on a passed ball, then scored on an error by the third baseman to make the final score of 3-0 in favor of Thomas More.
- Hudepohl went two for three from the plate with a run scored and a stolen base.
- Pollard batted two for two for the game while drawing a walk and hitting a double.
- Bishop hit a single in her only plate appearance that resulted in a run.
- McAdoo went one for three from the plate, driving in a run and hitting a triple.
- Sophomore pitcher Annika Gels (Eaton, Ohio/Eaton) pitched a complete game (7 innings) allowing no runs on three hits and striking out five batters.
Softball returns to the field on Saturday, March 20, where they will travel to Wilmore Kentucky for a non-conference matchup with Asbury for a two game series game one is slated to begin at 2 p.m. ET.
