Box Score 2 (KISSIMMEE, Fla.) – The Thomas More College softball team dropped a pair of games today (Sunday, March 5, 2017) on the first day of the Rebel Spring Games at the Osceola County Softball Complex in Kissimmee, Florida. The Saints fell to Aurora University, 4-3, in the first game and 4-1 to No. 16-ranked Coe College in the second game.
In the first game of the day, Aurora scored four runs in the sixth and the Saints scored a run in the first, sixth and seventh inning. Junior pitcher Dallis Knotts (Florence, Ky./Boone County) led the Saints at the plate as she was two-for-four with a double and two runs scored. Five other Saints had a hit in the game.
Knotts suffered the loss as she pitched five and two-third innings and gave up four runs (all unearned) on seven hits and struck out one.
In the game against Coe, the Saints plated a run in the third, but Coe scored three in the first and one in the second. Offensively, junior catcher Laura Finke (Fort Wright, Ky./Notre Dame Academy) had a triple and a run scored, while sophomore third baseman Mary Beth Odom (Taylor Mill, Ky./Dixie Heights) and junior first baseman Katie Behm (Fort Lauderdale, Fla./St. Thomas Aquinas) each had a single.
Sophomore pitcher Alix DeDreu (Rising Sun, Ind/Rising Sun) suffered the loss in the pitching circle.
Thomas More returns to the diamonds tomorrow at Osceola County Softball Complex to play Simpson College at 9 a.m. and Penn State University – Berks at 11:15 a.m.
