Box Score 2 (AUBURNDALE, Fla.) - The Thomas More College softball team dropped two games today (Tuesday, March 11, 2014) on the second day of the Rebel Spring Games in Auburndale, Florida. The Saints fell, 1-0, to Marietta College in the first game and 3-1, to Hiram in the second game.
The Saints are now 1-3 on the season.
Sophomore pitcher Mamee Salzer (Erlanger, Ky./St. Henry) suffered the loss to Marietta as she pitched 2.1 innings and gave up one run on two hits. She led the team at the plate as she had two hits.
Senior Stefaney Turner (Franklin, Ohio/Carlisle) led Thomas More at the plate against Hiram as she had two hits and a sacrifice fly. Senior pitcher Ronni Burns (Dayton, Ohio/Carroll) took the loss in the circle as she gave up three earned runs on two hits, while striking out four, walking two and one hit by pitch.
Thomas More returns to action tomorrow as it plays Defiance College at 9 a.m. and Catholic University of America at 1 p.m. Both games will be at the Auburndale Softball Complex in Auburndale, Florida.
