Box Score 2 (KISSIMMEE, Fla.) - The Thomas More College softball team dropped two games today (Monday, March 5, 2012) on the first day of the Rebel Spring Games in Kissimmee, Florida as it fell, 2-0, to Bridgewater (Va.) College and, 6-3, to Simpson College.
With the losses, the Saints fall to 0-2.
In the loss to Bridgewater, sophomore Sara Young (Okeana, Ohio/Mount Notre Dame) suffered the loss in the pitching circle as she pitched six innings and gave up two runs on seven hits and one error.
Sophomore first baseman Stefaney Turner (Franklin, Ohio/Carlisle) led the Saints at the plate as she was two-for-three, while sophomore catcher Ashley Fletcher (Lebanon, Ohio/Springboro) and sophomore second baseman Alex Walter (Lebanon, Ohio/Lebanon) each had one hit.
In the second game of the day, the Saints had three runs on seven hits and had three errors, while Simpson had six runs on 11 hits and had one error.
The Saints return to action tomorrow as they play Beloit College at 9 a,m. and Trine University at 3 p.m. at the Fortune Road Complex in Kissimmee, Florida.
