INDIANAPOLIS - Sophomore goalkeeper
Joey Jones of Thomas More men's soccer was named the Great Midwest Athletic Conference Men's Soccer Defensive Athlete of the Week for the week of September 21st.
Jones produced two exceptional performances in goal to earn the award for the second time in three weeks. In Thursday night's win over Kentucky Wesleyan, the Dover, Ohio native made 5 saves and kept a clean sheet, allowing the Saints to pull out a 2-0 victory. Then on Saturday, Jones recorded his third clean sheet of the campaign, making 2 saves that allowed Thomas More to clinch a 1-0 triumph over Cedarville that pushed the Saints into a tie for first place in the G-MAC.
Jones and the Saints will look to continue their winning ways on Thursday when they take on Ohio Dominican at Republic Bank Field at 5 p.m.
