Softball Falls to Concordia St.Paul & Rockhurst on Day Two in Florida

(VIERA, Fla.)-Thomas More University's softball team fell to Concordia St. Paul (7-5) and Rockhurst (7-2) on Monday (March 10). The Saints overall record falls to 5-8.

Game One: Thomas More fell 7-5 to Concordia St. Paul

• In the first inning, First Year Brooklynn Couch (Lawrenceburg, Ind./Lawrenceburg) singled up the middle to score sophomore Emma Fegan (Bargersville, Ind./Roncalli). Sophomore Haylee Palmer (Lawrenceburg, Ind./Lawrenceburg) advanced to third on the play, giving the Saints an early 1–0 lead.
• In the third inning, senior Ashtyn Elbe (Cincinnati, Ohio/Mercy McAuley) doubled to right center to score Emma Fegan and extend the lead to 2–0. Later in the inning, Brooklynn Couch laid down a sacrifice bunt to score Haylee Palmer and put the Saints up 3–0. First Year Alisha Fox (Cincinnati, Ohio/Mason) followed with a double to left field, scoring Ashtyn Elbe and increasing the lead to 4–0. Sophomore Natalie Harris (Vandalia, Ohio/Vandalia Butler) then singled down the right field line to score Alisha Fox, and giving the Saints a 5–0 advantage.

Game Two: Thomas More fell 7-2 to Rockhurst

• In the first inning sophomore Loghan Cromer (Hilliard, Ohio/Hilliard Bradley) scored on a bases loaded walk. Natalie Harris reached on error, scoring Emma Fegan.

Game One:

• Alisha Fox recorded a double and RBI going 1-3.
• Brooklynn Couch collected a hit with 2 RBI including a sacrifice bunt going 2-2
• Ashtyn Elbe hit an RBI double going 1-4
• Natalie Harris added an RBI single going 2-2
• Haylee Palmer recorded a double going 1-3
• Senior Josie Wefer (Cincinnati, Ohio/Oak Hills) went 1-3

Game Two:

• Loghan Cromer went 1-4
• Emma Fegan went 1-4
• Senior Ashtyn Elbe (Cincinnati, Ohio/Mercy McAuley) went 1-4
• Junior Anna Greenwell (Fort Thomas, Ky/Highlands) went 1-3

Game One:

• Alisha Fox pitched 6.2 innings, allowing 7 runs with 3 earned on 9 hits with 1 walk and 1 strikeout.
• Kendyl Feutz (Bloomington, Ind./Bloomington North) pitched 0.1 innings with 2 hits.

Game Two:

• Junior Avery Gottlieb (Cincinnati, Ohio/Oak Hills) pitched 1.1 innings allowing 4 earned runs on 5 hits and 1 walk.
• Junior Becca LeMay (Pickerington, Ohio/Bishop Hartley) pitched 1.1 innings allowing 3 runs on 5 hits and 1 walk.
• First Year Kendyl Fuetz (Bloomington, Ind./Bloomington North) pitched 2.2 innings allowing 0 runs on 0 hits and 2 walks. 

The Saints return tomorrow (March 10) againtst Minnesota Crookston and Minot State in Florida starting at 10:00 am.
