Softball Falls to Concordia St.Paul & Rockhurst on Day Two in Florida

(VIERA, Fla.)-Thomas More University's softball team fell to Concordia St. Paul (7-5) and Rockhurst (7-2) on Monday (March 10). The Saints overall record falls to 5-8.

Game One: Thomas More fell 7-5 to Concordia St. Paul

  • In the first inning, First Year Brooklynn Couch (Lawrenceburg, Ind./Lawrenceburg) singled up the middle to score sophomore Emma Fegan (Bargersville, Ind./Roncalli). Sophomore Haylee Palmer (Lawrenceburg, Ind./Lawrenceburg) advanced to third on the play, giving the Saints an early 1–0 lead.
  • In the third inning, senior Ashtyn Elbe (Cincinnati, Ohio/Mercy McAuley) doubled to right center to score Emma Fegan and extend the lead to 2–0. Later in the inning, Brooklynn Couch laid down a sacrifice bunt to score Haylee Palmer and put the Saints up 3–0. First Year Alisha Fox (Cincinnati, Ohio/Mason) followed with a double to left field, scoring Ashtyn Elbe and increasing the lead to 4–0. Sophomore Natalie Harris (Vandalia, Ohio/Vandalia Butler) then singled down the right field line to score Alisha Fox, and giving the Saints a 5–0 advantage.
