Women’s Lacrosse topped by Davenport

(CRESTVIEW HILLS, Ky) – The Thomas More University women's lacrosse team was defeated by Davenport University on Friday evening (Mar. 6) by a score of 21-7. The Saints' overall record falls of 1-4.
 
How they scored
  • Davenport scored the first goal before sophomore Hannah Scheland (Cincinnati, OH / Seton) scored for Thomas More with an assist from freshman Julia Diller (Whitehouse, OH / Anthony Wayne).
  • The Panthers scored another goal before sophomore Brynn Halbeisen (Cincinnati, OH / Walnut Hills) connected with senior Meg Pierani (Lawrenceburg, IN / Mercy McAuley) for the Saints' second goal with just over two minutes remaining in the first quarter.
  • Davenport responded with five straight goals.
  • Meg Pierani had her second goal at the 7:34 mark of the second quarter before junior Alex Nunn (Loveland, OH / Loveland) connected with junior Anna Wells (West Chester, OH / Lakota West) for back-to-back goals for Thomas More.
  • Freshman Payton Davis (Springboro, OH / Springboro) scored on a man-up situation just seconds before halftime but Davenport led 10-5 at the break.
  • The Panthers scored three goals to start the second half before Anna Wells had her second goal of the game.
  • Meg Pierani scored on a man-up situation with 1:32 remaining in the game after Davenport had seven-unanswered.
  • Davenport had their final goal with seconds left in the game.
 
 

The Saints will be on the rest of March. Their first stop will be in Tigerville, S.C. at North Greenville University. The game is scheduled to begin at 6 PM.
