Saints defeated by Trailblazers

(TIGERVILLE, SC) – The Thomas More University women's lacrosse team fell to the North Greenville University Trailblazers by a score of 19-7 on Thursday evening (March 12). The Saints fall to 1-5 on the season.
 How they scored
  • North Greenville scored the first two goals within the first minute of the game.
  • Junior Alex Nunn (Loveland, OH / Loveland) scored the Saints first goal at the 13:52 mark of the first quarter.
  • The Trailblazers scored the next five goals before senior Meg Pierani (Lawrenceburg, IN / Mercy McAuley) scored a few minutes into the second quarter.
  • Junior Anna Wells (West Chester, OH / Lakota West) had Thomas More's third goal at the 10:53 mark in the second quarter before scoring her second goal of the quarter four and a half minutes later. She scored her third and final goal with 1:20 left in the first half as North Greenville led 11-5 into the break.
  • The Trailblazers scored seven goals in the third quarter.
  • Thomas More had two goals to start the final quarter, both coming off the stick of sophomore Hannah Scheland (Cincinnati, OH / Seton). Anna Wells had an assist on the first goal.
  • North Greenville scored one more time before the game ended with the Trailblazers up 19-7.
 
  • Anna Wells scored three goals and had an assist. She had seven total shots and six on goal. She won four draw controls
  • Hannah Scheland had two goals on her two shots.
  • Meg Pierani took nine shots and scored one goal.
  • Alex Nunn scored once on her four shots. She also had four draw controls.
  • Sophomore Jadyn Carle (Cincinnati, OH / Mercy McAuley) had four ground balls and caused three turnovers to help the Saints defense.
 

The Saints will continue their road trip with their next stop at Tusculum on Saturday (March 14). The game is scheduled to begin at 1:00 PM.
