Baseball Secures Midweek Win Over UC-Clermont

(FLORENCE, Ky.)-Thomas More University's baseball team defeated UC-Clermont on Tuesday (March 24), 10-3. The Saints overall record improves to 10-10 and 3-5 in conference.

• UC-Clermont scored one run in the top of the first inning (0-1).
• In the bottom of the first inning, junior Matt Resing (Independence, Ky./St. Henry) doubled down the left field line to score junior Ty Cunningham (Fairfield, Ohio/Fairfield) to tie things up 1-1. First year Ian Mann (Newport, Ky./Newport Central Catholic) singled up the middle to send in junior Nolan Krekeler (Loveland, Ohio/Moeller) and senior Gunner Kalkhoff (Cincinnati, Ohio/LaSalle) to give the Saints a 3-1 lead.
• First year Sean O'Donnell (Pittsburgh, Pa./North Allegheny) doubled to the center field fence in the bottom of the fourth to score first year Theodore Bosio (Grand Rapids, Mich./Forest Hills Northern) to extend the Saints lead to 4-1. Sean O'Donnell would score on a stolen base that allowed him to advance to third then scored on a throwing error by the short stop to make it a 5-1 game. Nolan Krekeler doubled to center field to send in first year Jack Geers (Harrison, Ohio/Harrison) to put the Saints up 6-1. Gunner Kalkhoff would step up to the plate next and single to left field to score Nolan Krekeler (7-1).
• UC-Clermont scored one run in the top of the fifth (7-2).
• In the bottom of the fifth, Ian Mann scored off a single hit up the middle by Theodore Bosio to make it a 8-2 game. 
• Nolan Krekeler and Gunner Kalkhoff would score on a error by the first baseman to extend the lead to 10-2.
• UC-Clermont scored one run in the top of the ninth (10-3).

• Gunner Kalkhoff went 3-4 with one RBI, one double, and scored one run.
• Ian Mann was 3-4 with two RBIs and scored onr run.
• Theodore Bosio went 3-3 at the plate with one RBI, one double,and scored one run.
• Nolan Krekeler went 2-4 with one RBI, one double, and scored three runs.
• Matt Resing was 2-4 with one RBI, one double, and scored one run.

• Sophomore Dylan Thompson (Cincinnati, Ohio/St. Xavier) pitched 3.0 innings, allowing one earned run off two hits and struck out three.
• Senior Ian Bierbaum (Cincinnati, Ohio/LaSalle) pitched 3.0 innings, allowing one earned run off four hits and struck out two.
• Sophomore Logan Cones (Independence, Ky./Simon Kenton) pitched 1.0 innings, allowing no runs and no hits.
• Sophomore Aaron Wichmann (Burlington, Ky./Conner) pitched 1.0 inning, allowing no runs off no hits and struck out two.
• Sophomore Cameron Snider (Amelia, Ohio/Bethel-Tate) pitched 1.0 inning, allowing one run off one hit.

The Saints return Friday (March 27) in a 9-inning game to kick off their series against Ashland beginning at 2:00 pm ET.
