Softball Picks up Win in Home Opener Over Kentucky State

(Crestview Hills, Ky.)- Thomas More University's softball team swept Kentucky State University in their double header home opener, 8-0 (5 innings) in game one and 11-1 (5
innings) in game two on Thursday (March 19). The Saints overall record is now 10-12.

How they scored
Game one: Thomas More won 8-0 in 5-innings
  • In the bottom of the second inning, senior Sophia Thoma (Cleves, Ohio/Taylor) grounded out to first base to score sophomore Brooklynn Couch (Lawrenceburg, Ind./Lawrenceburg) to put the Saints up 1-0. Sophomore Natalie Harris (Vandalia, Ohio/Vandalia Butler) flew out to left field to score first year Alisha Fox (Cincinnati, Ohio/Mason) to put the Saints up 2-0. Junior Adi Johnson (Ross, Ohio/Ross) singled to third base to score first year Madi Hall (Gahanna, Ohio/Lincoln) to put the Saints up 3-0.
  • In the bottom of the third inning, first year Madi Hall was hit by a pitch to score sophomore Haylee Palmer (Lawrenceburg, Ind./Lawrenceburg) to put the Saints up 4-0. Sophomore Natalie Harris singled to right field to score junior Anna Greenwell (Fort Thomas, Ky./Highlands) and first year Alisha Fox to put the Saints up 7-0.
  • In the bottom of the fifth inning, senior Sophia Thoma tripled to right field to score Madi Hall to put the Saints up 8-0.
