Saints Split in final day of Lincoln Memorial Tournament

(Harrogate, Tenn.) - The Thomas More Saints softball team won 4-2 against Bloomsburg University to start off before they fell to host Lincoln Memorial 13-7. The Saints overall record improves to 4-6.
 

Game 1: Thomas More 4 – Bloomsburg 2

• In the bottom of the second inning First Year Alisha Fox (Cincinnati, Ohio/Mason) tripled for First Year Brooklynn Couch (Lawrenceburg, Ind./Lawrenceburg) to score putting the Saints up 1-0.
• First Year Kendyl Feutz (Bloomington, Ind./Bloomington North) doubled to score Alisha Fox putting the Saints up 2-0.
• In the bottom of the third inning Brooklynn Couch singled to score Sophomore Haylee Palmer (Lawrenceburg, Ind./Lawrenceburg) increasing the Saints lead to 3-0.
• In the bottom of the fifth inning Alisha Fox singled to score Haylee Palmer putting the Saints up to 4-2.

Game 2: Lincoln Memorial 13 – Thomas More 7

• In the top of the first inning Sophomore Haylee Palmer (Lawrenceburg, Ind./Lawrenceburg) reached first, advancing to second to allow Senior Ashtyn Elbe (Cincinnati, Ohio/Mercy McAuley) to score making the Saints lead 1-0.
• In the top of the third inning Haylee Palmer singled with Ashtyn Elbe advancing to second to score Sophomore Emma Fegan (Bargersville, Ind./Roncalli) putting the Saints at 2-7.
• In the top of the fifth inning First Year Brooklynn Couch (Lawrenceburg, Ind./Lawrenceburg) walked, Haylee Palmer advanced to second, Ashtyn Elbe advanced to third, and Emma Fegan scored putting the Saints at 3-9.
• Brooklynn Couch advanced to second on a wild pitch, Haylee Palmer advanced to third, and Ashtyn Elbe scored making the Saints score 4-9. 
• First Year Alisha Fox (Cincinnati, Ohio/Mason) singled to score Brooklynn Couch and Haylee Palmer increasing the Saints score to 6-9.
• In the top of the seventh inning Alisha Fox homered making the score 7-13.

• Alisha Fox went 2-2 with a triple and 2 RBI's
• Brooklynn Couch went 2-3 with a double and 1 RBI
• Haylee Palmer went 1-2 with a double
• Kendyl Feutz went 3-1 with a double and 1 RBI

• Sophomore Loghan Cromer (Hilliard, Ohio/Hilliard Bradley) went 1-3

Game 2

• First Year Kendyl Feutz (Bloomington, Ind./Bloomington North) pitched 1.1 innings with 6 runs, 3 earned on 3 hits and 2 strikeouts.
• Junior Kylie Ropp (Bellefontaine, Ohio/Kenton Ridge) pitched 2.0 innings with 3 runs, 2 earned on 5 hits.
• Junior Becca LeMay (Pickerington, Ohio/Bishop Hartley) pitched 1.2 innings with 2 earned runs on 2 hits.
• Junior Avery Gottlieb (Cincinnati, Ohio/Oak Hills) pitched 1.0 innings with 2 runs, 1 earned on 2 hits and 3 strikeouts.

 

The Saints will be back in action Tuesday, March 3rd at 2pm and 4pm for their home opener against Union College.
