Saints split in opening day of the Lincoln Memorial Tournament

(HARROGATE, Tenn.) - The Thomas More Saints softball team fell to Bloomsburg University, 0-8 before they defeated host Lincoln Memorial 8-5 in game two. The Saints raise their overall record to 3-5.
 
How they scored
Game Two:
  • In the top of the second inning first year Madi Hall (Gahanna, Ohio/Lincoln) singled to score first year Brooklynn Couch (Lawrenceburg, Ind./ Lawrenceburg) to put the Saints at 1-2.
  • In the top of the third inning sophomore Loghan Cromer (Hilliard, Ohio/Hilliard Bradley) singled to score Junior Adi Johnson (Ross, Ohio/Ross) to put the Saints at 2-3.
  • In the top of the fourth inning Senior Josie Wefer (Cincinnati, Ohio/Oak Hills) homered to put the Saints even at 3-3.
  • In the top of the fifth inning sophomore Haylee Palmer (Lawrenceburg, Ind./ Lawrenceburg) doubled to score senior Ashtyn Elbe (Cincinnati, Ohio/Mercy McAuley) and sophomore Emma Fegan (Bargersville, Ind./Roncalli) to put the Saints back at 5-5. 
  • In the top of the sixth Emma Fegan doubled scoring Adi Johnson while Loghan Cromer advanced to 3rd. The Saints took the lead 6-5.
  • In the sixth Ashtyn Elbe doubled scoring Emma Fegan and Loghan Cromer. The Saints lead rises to 8-5.
 
 

Game One:
  • First year Brooklynn Couch (Lawrenceburg, Ind./ Lawrenceburg) went 1 for 2 with a single.

  • Junior Kylie Ropp (Bellefontaine, Ohio/Kenton Ridge) pitched 4.0 innings allowing 6 earned runs on 9 hits. 
  • Junior Becca LeMay (Pickerington, Ohio/Bishop Hartley) pitched 0.2 innings allowing 2 earned runs on 2 hits.
Game Two:
  • First year Alisha Fox (Cincinnati, Ohio/Mason) pitched 7.0 innings allowing 5 runs with 4 earned with 8 hits and 6 strikeouts.

The Saints will be back in action tomorrow, March 1st in Harrogate, Tennessee at the Lincoln Memorial Tournament playing Bloomsburg University at 10am and Lincoln Memorial University at 3pm.
