(INDIANAPOLIS, IN.) – The Great Midwest Athletic Conference (G-MAC) announced their 2026 Baseball Coaches' Preseason Poll this week, and Thomas More was picked to finish 6th in the South Division with 22 points.
This will be the Saints third season in the G-MAC and NCAA Division II and first year as official members of Division II after a 2025 campaign that saw the Saints go 16-30 overall and 9-20 in conference play.
It will be head coach
Cole Shaffer's first season as Head Coach for the Saints.
The poll is broken up in two divisions. The North is headlined by Northwood at the top with 7 first place votes and 63 points. Ashland follows in second with 61 points and 5 first place vote. The rest of the north shows Hillsdale in third with 41 points, Findlay in fourth with 39 points, Tiffin in fifth with 31 points, and Lake Erie in sixth with 17 points.
The south shows Walsh in first with 7 first place votes and 63 points. Kentucky Wesleyan received five first place votes and picked second in the division with 60 points. The rest of the south includes Ohio Dominican in third with 48 points, Cedarville in fourth with 35 points, Malone in fifth with 24 points, and the Saints to round out the group in sixth with 22 points.
Thomas More opens the season on Tuesday, February 17th in Harrogate, TN at Lamar Hennon Field against Lincoln Memorial in a single game beginning at 3:00 pm ET.
