Women's Lacrosse Advances to the G-MAC Semifinals

(CRESTVIEW HILLS, Ky.)-Thomas More University's women's lacrosse team defeated Tiffin on Saturday afternoon (April 26), 19-17 to advance to the G-MAC Tournament semifinals. The Saints overall record improves to 5-13 and 4-4 in conference.

• Tiffin's Caylin Kunze scored first to put the Dragons up 1-0 with 14:45 to play in the first. 
• Sophomore Anna Wells (West Chester, OH / Lakota West) tied things up at 1-1 with 13:00 on the clock in the first quarter.
• Tiffin followed with three more goals in the first to put them up 4-1.
• With 5:33 left in the first, sophomore Alex Nunn (Loveland, OH / Loveland) scored to make it a 4-2 game.
• Tiffin scored back to back goals to put the Dragons up 6-2.
• Junior Meg Pierani (Lawrenceburg, IN / Mercy McAuley) and Anna Wells scored back to back goals for the Saints in the 3:00 minute mark to put the Saints within two (6-4). 
• Tiffin scored the last 15 seconds of the quarter for the final goal of the quarter (7-4).
• Senior Gracey Robinson (Lebanon, OH / Lebanon) found the back of the net with 13:05 to play in the second quarter to make it a 7-5 game. Alex Nunn, sophomore Alexis Denman (Cincinnati, OH / Mercy McAuley), Gracey Robinson, and senior Eva Kinwel  would follow with goals to give the Saints a 9-7 lead. 
• Tiffin would start things off in the third to put the Dragons down 9-8.
• Anna Wells scored two, first year Elina Emmons (Fairfield, OH / Fairfield), and Alexis Denman both added goals to put the Saints up 13-8 in the third.
• Tiffin added one then Anna Wells scored to make it a 14-9 game.
• Tiffin would add another goal with 6:46 to play followed by another Anna Wells goal (15-10).
• Tiffin added two more goals to make it a 15-12 game.
• Alex Nunn and Meg Pierani both added to goals each to start of the fourth (19-12).
• Tiffiin would finish off the game with five goals but would come up short to the Saints 19-17.

• Anna Wells tallied six goals, six points, eight shots with seven on goal.
• Alex Nunn had four goals, two assists, six points, 10 shots with six on goal.
• Meg Pierani had three goals, three points, and four shots on goal.
• Gracey Robinson recorded two goals, two points, and four shots with three on goal.
• Alexis Denman scored two goals, two points, and had four shots with three on goal. 
• Elina Emmons had one goal, one point, and two shots on goal.
• Ava Kinwel tallied one goal, one point, and one shot on goal.

The Saints return Thursday (May 1) against Ashland in Ashland, Ohio beginning at 12:00 pm ET.
