Softball Splits With Ursuline on Friday

(PEPPER PIKE, OH)- Thomas More University's softball team split with the Ursuline Arrows on Friday (April, 18th). The Saints took game one by a final score of 8 to 2, before dropping game two 10 to 3. Thomas More moves to 16-24 overall on the season and 4-14 in G-MAC play.

How they scored
Game One: Thomas More won 8-2
  • In the top of the 2nd, senior Emily Allphin (New Richmond, OH / Milford) walked to bring home the first run of the game.
  • Also in the second, the Saints added two more runs on RBIs from sophomore Maeve Fink (Cincinnati, OH / Oak Hills) and first year Emma Fegan (Bargersville, IN / Roncalli) to make the score 3 to 0.
  • Ursuline scored two runs in the bottom of the 2nd to make the score 3 to 2.
  • Thomas More added a run in the top of the 3rd off an RBI from first year Natalie Harris (Vandalia, OH / Vandalia Butler).
  • In the top of the 4th, sophomore Adisyn Johnson (Ross, OH / Ross) hit an RBI single to extend the lead to 3.
  • Thomas More continued to pad their lead with a two RBI double from junior Ashtyn Elber (Cincinnati, OH) to make it a 7 to 2 game.
  • Thomas More scored one more run in the 6th inning off an RBI single from Adisyn Johnson.
Game Two: Ursuline won 10-3
  • An RBI single from first year Michelle Barth (Ft. Thomas, KY / Highlands) and a walk from Emma Fegan to bring home a run gave the Saints a 2-0 lead.
  • Ursuline scored three runs in the 2nd, and three more runs in the 3rd to take a 6 to 2 lead.
  • Thomas More got a run back on an RBI from Adisyn Johnson in the top of the 4th.
  • Ursuline scored 4 more runs in the bottom of the 5th to make it a 10 to 3 game.

Game One:
  • Adisyn Johnson went 2 for 4 at the plate with 2 RBIs, and a run scored.
  • Michelle Barth went 2 for 4 with a run scored in the game.
  • Ashtyn Elbe went 1 for 3 at the dish with a double, 2 RBIs, 2 walks, and a run scored.
  • Emma Fegan went 1 for 3 with an RBI, a walk and a run scored.
Game Two:
  • Michelle Barth went 2 for 4 with an RBI and a double.
  • First year Haylee Palmer (Lawrenceburg, IN / Lawrenceburg) went 2 for 3 with a run scored.

Game One:
  • First year Avery Gottlieb (Ross, Ohio / Oak Hills) pitched 7.0 innings, allowing two earned runs off seven hits and struck out four.
Game Two:
  • Sophomore Kylie Ropp (Bellefontaine, OH / Kenton Ridge) got the start and pitched 2.0 innings. She allowed 5 runs on 7 hits.
  • Sophomore Becca LeMay (Pickerington, Ohio / Bishop Hartley) pitched 2.1 innings, allowing four earned runs off seven hits.
  • Sophomore Olivia Dumm (Williamsport, Ohio/ Westfall) pitched 1.2 innings, she did not allow a run or hit.
