Saints Come Up Short Against Findlay on Senior Day

(Crestview Hills, KY) - The Thomas More women's lacrosse team fell to the Findlay Oilers by a final score of 17 to 9 on Saturday (April, 12th). Thomas More falls to an overall record of 2-13 on the season and 2-4 in G-MAC play.

• First year Lauren Ferrier (Cincinnati, OH / Mercy McAuley) put the Saints in front in the first minute with an unassisted goal to make it 1 to 0.
• Findlay answered with four goals to take the 4 to 1 lead.
• Sophomores Alexis Denman (Cincinnati, OH / Mercy McAuley) and Alex Nunn (Loveland, OH / Loveland) scored back to back to make it a one goal game.
• Findlay scored four goals to close the half with an 8 to 3 lead.
• Sophomore Anna Wells (West Chester, OH / Lakota West) scored the first goal of the second half off an assist from Alex Nunn.
• Junior Meg Pierani responded to a Findlay goal with her own off an assist from Alexis Denman. (5-9)
• Findlay scored, and the Saints answered as Alex Nunn recorded back to back assists on goals from Anna Wells and Alexis Denman. (7-10)
• Findlay pushed the lead back to 5 with 2 more goals.
• Anna Wells scored her third goal of the day on an assist from Alex Nunn with 13:49 to go.
• Findlay scored two more goals, and Alexis Denman answered with a goal off an assist from Meg Pierani to make it 14 to 9.
• Findlay ended the game with the final three goals to make it a 17 to 9 final.

• Alex Nunn led the Saints with 5 points (1 goal, 4 assists). She also recorded 4 draw controls, 4 caused turnovers and 5 ground balls.
• Alex Denman recorded 3 goals and an assist in the game.
• Anna Wells tallied 3 goals to go with 6 draw controls and 4 caused turnovers.

• The Saints return to action on Thursday (April, 17th) when they travel to Painesville, Ohio to take on Lake Erie. That game is set to begin at 6:00 PM.
